Investment Recovery encompasses: 1. Scrap Metal Recovery (Iron, Aluminum, Copper, Steel) 2. Oil Filled Equipment 49ppm PCB and under (e.g. Transformers, Regulators, Circuit Breakers) 3. Meters (Electric and Gas) 4. Scrap Plastics (PVC, HDPE) Services in this effort include: 1. Substation Decommissioning 2. Routine pick-up of metal, plastic and equipment from approximately 140 PG&E locations. 3. Disposition and recycling of commodities. 4. Monthly record keeping and reporting. Services not included: 1. Computers and peripherals 2. Hazardous Waste (Oil filled equipment with PCB >50ppm) 3. Waste transformer oil PG&E is interested in maximizing our return for these commodities. One of PG&E’s values is environmental stewardship. As a result, all materials must be properly and safely managed to their end disposition. Any company submitting an RFI must be properly permitted in California or any other competent jurisdiction to perform the services requested and is subject to an environmental review. Suppliers interested in pre-qualifying for this work must respond to the Request for Information (RFI) by no later than 4:00 p.m. (Pacific), Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Our primary business is the transmission and delivery of energy to within our service territory. Based in San Francisco, the company is a wholly owned subsidiary of PG&E Corporation. PG&E provides natural gas and electric service to approximately 14 million people throughout a 70,000 square mile service area in northern and central California. Our customers include over 20,000 schools, 3,000 hospitals, 20,000 high-tech companies, and 700 military facilities. As the primary natural gas and electric service provider for Central and Northern California, PG&E’s service territory stretches from Eureka in the north to Bakersfield in the south, and from the Pacific Ocean in the west to the Sierra Nevada in the east. The purpose of this RFI is to gather information about your company’s ability to provide Investment Recovery services to PG&E. The information that you provide in the RFI response may be used by PG&E to make decisions concerning your company’s eligibility to participate in a future Request for Proposal (RFP). Please note that this is not an RFP and that there will be no contract awarded based strictly on your company’s response to this RFI. As previously indicated, the RFI can be obtained by accessing the Power Advocate website. Questionnaires may be completed and existing responses added, edited, and/or changed throughout the RFI event until the event closes. This RFI event will close at 04:00:00 PM PDT 10/20/10. No information will be accepted in the RFI after this time/date.
