Dear Parent or Guardian,
As principal and associate principal at King Elementary, it is our responsibility to keep all students safe. Please read
our new afternoon pick up plan that will take effect Wednesday, January 2, 2013. We’ve also included morning
drop off procedures for review. We are confident that we can all work together to make this as smooth as possible.
There is a map on the back of this sheet to assist in navigating the property. Please contact us any time if you have
any questions or concerns.

Morning Procedures:







Please look for the “enter here” sign when entering the parking lot.
Parents and/or other adults are not to park in the bus entrance parking lot. Please look for the “buses
only entrance” sign.
Students may only exit vehicles from the right hand, curb lane once the vehicle has come to a complete
stop.
Do not park in a fire lane or any unmarked spot.
Students can be dropped off at 7:50 AM if they are eating breakfast. Students cannot be dropped off at
school prior to 8:00 AM if they are not eating breakfast. Parents are welcome in the cafeteria.
If you plan to walk your child onto school property, please note that parents are not allowed on the
playground due to safety issues.
Younger siblings must stay with their parents at all times when on school property. In order to keep
smaller children safe, only King students can play on the playground 8:00 AM – 2:50 PM.
Afternoon Procedures:










Vehicles must pull forward as far as possible inside the afternoon pick up area before stopping and
allowing students to get in.
Students may only board vehicles from the right hand, curb lane once the vehicle has come to a complete
stop.
Do not park in a fire lane or any unmarked spot.
Parent pick-up students should be picked up under the covered area at the east end of the building. Staff
will release students after seeing the appropriate adult.
Students should no longer be picked up under the tree in front of the building. Please proceed to the pickup area.
All students being picked up will be picked up under the covered area. Students will no longer be sent
across the field to meet parents parking on Boise Ave.
Younger siblings must stay with their parents at all times when on school property.
