When arriving by car all parents are required to follow a one-way traffic pattern on 12 th
Street. Parents shall travel in the northbound direction.

Please observe the No Parking Zone immediately in front of the main entrance on
12th Street. Dropping off and picking up students is allowed in this area, but only if the driver remains in the vehicle at all times and leaves after the child exits the vehicle.

If you need to park to walk your student into the school, please find a safe and legal parking space. There are 15-minute parking zones on 12th Street to the north of the school entrance and on D Street.

When dropping off or picking up students, make sure to pull all the way up to the curb and let your children out on the school side of the street .

Never stop in the traffic lane to drop off or pick up anyone.

Do not make U-turns near the school.

Do not block crosswalks, fire hydrants, alleys, mail boxes or trash collection receptacles.

Obey the speed limit and cell phone laws!

Be polite to other drivers and children.
 Teach your children to respect our neighborhood’s private property.

All pedestrians/bike riders use the crosswalks or cross at intersections only.
Ways to relieve traffic congestion near the school:
 Students who live nearby should walk or ride bikes.
 Park near the school and walk the rest of the way.
 Ride share or use public transportation.
 Leave a few minutes early to allow plenty of time before drop-off and pick-up times. Give your children their money, school papers, and hugs and kisses before they get to school.
Arrival:

Doors open at 8:05 AM. Please enter through main entrance door.

Breakfast: Breakfast begins at 8:05 AM.

Before care: Before care begins at 7:00 AM. Enter the E Street door closest to
12 th
Street for before care. Parents that have not signed their child up for before care, but drop their students off before 8:05 AM (when breakfast begins) will be charged for before care by Springboard.

First, Second and Third Graders: Enter via the Main entrance on 12 th Street near E. The main entrance will open at 8:05 AM.

Fourth and Fifth Graders: Enter via the D Street entrance. This entrance locks at 8:45 am. Students arriving after 8:45 AM must enter through the main entrance and will need to retrieve a tardy pass.

Dismissal

Bus students will be supervised in the cafeteria until buses arrive.

Afterschool Programs: OST students will be supervised in the PE room, room
110. Springboard students will be in the library. At 3:30PM, students will be picked up by their after school teacher. REC students will be with Coach Cobbs in the cafeteria.

Prepare for Dismissal o 1st and 2nd grade students will be dismissed from their classrooms. o 3rd grade students will be picked up from the cafeteria (each class will be lined up behind their teacher’s cone) o 4th/5th grade students will be dismissed from the D Street entrance.
Parents can wait outside for students but cannot enter the building from the D. Street foyer.

Parents will be invited to pick up their students from the areas listed above at 3:15
PM.
