PROCEDURE FOR DROPPING OFF STUDENTS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY
Students who are dropped off for school in the morning must be dropped off at the front
of the building. Upon entering the parking area, just follow the Student Drop Off sign to
your right and proceed to the front of the building. Parents may pull up to the curb in
front of the building to let their child out, and the child may enter the front doors of the
building. Students who are dropped off before 8:30 a.m. may wait in the vestibule until
the 8:30 bell rings. They then may proceed to the cafeteria for breakfast. Parents are
asked not to park along the curb at the front of the building. That area is for student
drop off and pick up only. Parents who are accompanying their child into the building
must park in one of the marked spaces in the front parking lot.
PROCEDURE FOR PICKING UP STUDENTS AT THE END OF THE DAY
Students who are to be picked up at dismissal time will be dismissed to the gym on the
3:20 bell. Parents may park in the marked parking spaces in the front parking lot and
enter the outside gym doors to pick up your child. In order to maintain proper traffic
flow, we ask that parents/guardians not park along the curb at the front of the building.
The area along the curb is for student drop off and pick up only. No entry will be
permitted into the gym until the dismissal bell rings at 3:20. Parents will not be
permitted to go to students’ classrooms to pick them up. Rio Grande Elementary Is
NOT responsible for supervision of students after 3:30. It is very important that all
students are picked up by 3:30 each day to insure proper supervision for them.
