ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids will be received by Northeast Community College, Dave Dahms, Vice President for Finance
and Administration, Darwin Schrage Administration Building, 1625 Hwy 150 S., PO Box 400, Calmar,
Iowa 52132, until February 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. CST local time for the construction of the NICC
Permeable Paving Parking Lot and Storm Water Improvements.
Bids will be opened at 1:15 p.m. CST local time on February 11, 2016 in the Darwin Schrage
Administration Building, Small Conference Room #101 by the Vice President for Finance and
Administration or their designee.
Approval of the Bid results and awarding the construction contract will be during the Board of Directors
meeting set for February 15, 2016.
The Project consists of constructing 2,200 s.f. of paver parking, 100 s.y. of p.c curb work, 2,000 c.y. of
excavation including the construction of a 1,800 c.y. earthen berm, together with related subsidiary and
incidental work.
Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Bids shall be made on all divisions of the work. One
contract will be awarded for the combination of divisions deemed to be in the best interest of the
project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Erdman Engineering, P.C., 708 Commerce Drive, P.O.
Box 246, Decorah, Iowa 52101 (563) 382-4194. Prospective bidders may examine the Bidding
Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8 a.m. to 12:00
Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office
as described below.
Bidding Documents also may be examined at the office of the Vice President for Finance and
Administration, 1625 Hwy 150 S., Calmar, Iowa 52132, on Mondays through Fridays between the hours
of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A printed set of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours
indicated above. Upon request, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via postal
delivery service or other delivery service as requested. All printing and postal delivery charges will be
paid by the Owner. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be
considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents
will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or
partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the
Issuing Office.
No Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Bidders shall be prepared to submit proof of qualifications to perform the Work as described in the
Instruction to Bidders.
