We have an exciting opportunity for an engineering
Graduate to join Siemens Rail Systems in
Northampton.
Siemens Rail Systems is a leading provider of train maintenance to various train operating companies in the UK. Through purpose build train care facilities we ensure that clean, comfortable, safe and reliable trains go into service each and every day.
As a graduate, you will rotate through various roles concerned with fleet engineering and management on a two year programme, covering the following areas:
Safety Management
Engineering Support
Maintenance Optimisation
Major Repair Management
Configuration Control
Strategic Implementation
Operational Service Delivery
Production Management/Fleet Planning
Continuous Improvement & Quality
Customer Service and Relationship Management
Finance and Commercial Management
People Management
Compliance
You will support the existing teams in a fully operational role and you will be involved in both project based assignments and cross-functional working. During this time you will build a compliment of skills that will enable you to take on a professional role at the end of the scheme.
Fully participating and engaging with the business
Graduate Scheme and completing all components of the structured training plan, including a rotational placement programme, the Siemens plc Graduate Development
Programme (GDP), and local work-based skill courses
Reporting to your Sponsor Manager and Placement
Manager(s) and taking ownership for the completion of all allocated tasks to the best of your ability
Maintaining a Personal Professional Development Log
(PPDL)
Gaining an understanding of the Siemens plc, Rail
Systems business unit, including its goals, vision, services, departments, customers, and supply chain
Actively seek opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in preparation for a substantive role within the business
Engaging with the business’ Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) requirements
You must be graduating in, or have graduated with a 2:1 degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
You must have a keen interest in pursuing a career in fleet engineering and management
You must have the ability to lead and motivate a team
Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, influencing, organisational, time management and analytical skills
You must be confident with the ability and selfdetermination to drive your own development
Work experience in a production environment would be beneficial but not essential
This role will require travel to supplier sites within the UK so you will need to be flexible in regards to travel
