Expectations and Policies:

Student Behaviour: Please refer to the agenda for expectations.

Missed Classes: It is the responsibility of the student to keep track of lessons missed and to make up the work on time. In order for an absence to be legitimate, the school policy is that the office must be notified within 48 hours. In addition, students must provide a signed parental note or have a parent call me at school.

Assignments:

Homework: All work is expected to be completed and brought to class. All assignments and important information can be found at: jquon.wordpress.com.

Late Assignments: The late penalty is 10% per day, to a maximum of two days, unless prior arrangements have been made before the assignment is due. Any assignments not turned in will receive a mark of zero.

Extra Assistance:

Tutorial Block: I am available to help students during this block. No appointment is necessary.

AM/PM: If you would like to see me before or after school, please come to my room. While it is better if we schedule a time, I do not mind drop-ins.

Electronics:

Unless I have clearly indicated that it is permitted for a specific task, there are to be no electronics during class. If this rule is violated, I will take away your device for the remainder of the day, and you can collect your item from me after school.

Field Trip:

The organized field trip for all the Grade 8 students is a “Religions Tour” in the fall. This will provide an opportunity to visit various places of worship and to learn about other cultures and beliefs. Additionally, the tour will assist in the research for the religions project in term one.

The date, information and cost will be provided once the department has finalized all the details.
