Year Four’s Trip to the Castle When year four arrived at school on Wednesday 6th January everyone felt happy. Our leader at the castle was Jenni. Our teachers were Mrs Newton, Mrs Diaper, Mrs Fiddy and Miss Maibaum. Egyptians We held animal amulets, god and goddess amulets, Make up pots, jewellery, Shabti and scarab in the handling session. In the Egyptian gallery we saw two mummies and the mummies were covered in 3 miles of bandage. We had to find scarab beetles and eyes of Horus. We handled a canopic jar that you put your organs in when you make a mummy. They used eyeliner a lot so they used make up pots to put make up in. We went in the Egyptian gallery and we saw two mummies. There were also ring that looked quiet colourful. Romans We held some samian pottery, roof tile and mosaic tiles also wall painting plaster.
