Our Lady of the Rosary School Newsletter April 22, 2015 Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart Gospel Value: Forgiveness If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 Dear OLR Families, Have you ever wondered why life seems to pass more quickly as you get older? I suppose that in our young life we experience a lot of first-time events – our first day of school, our first Sacraments, our first date, our first child being born, our first vacation as a family, etc. These “firsts” are all such special events in our lives and we tend to remember the details of these events and treasure those lasting memories. When we repeat the event, year after year, the event seems less likely to make a lasting impression. With only seven weeks left in the school year, we reflect on how quickly the school year has flown by. We recall the significant growth of our students and the formation of the “whole” child occurs. It is so important that we take advantage of life’s unique experiences and try living more in the present. Being present and mindful of the moment is the way to enjoy your life to the fullest. Cultivating mindfulness will help us achieve our goals and enjoy life more. Treasure each moment with your child, including the small moments. You have been blessed with this beautiful child, so be sure to be present for him/her because before you know it, your child will be off to college. Our last fundraiser of the year is quickly approaching on Saturday, May 2. The first annual OLR FIESTA will run from 10 – 6 pm. Everyone is welcome to enjoy delicious food, fun games, and a lot of lasting memories with good friends. If you would like to finish up your Service Hours for the year, please contact me and I can provide volunteer opportunities so that you can complete your Service to the school. Treasure the remaining days of the school year. Be present for your child and offer your support so that he/she end the year on a strong note. We still have a number of events planned for the year (e.g. FIESTA, First Holy Communion Mass, Jog-a-Thon, Spring IOWA testing, Star testing, the Kinder promotion service, and all of the graduation related activities). It’s an exciting time at OLR; a time filled with many memorable moments.
