Dear OLR Families,
Last weekend we celebrated Palm Sunday, our Lord’s triumphant entrance into
Jerusalem where He was welcomed by the crowds worshipping Him and laying
down palm leaves before Him. It also marked the beginning of Holy Week. During
Holy Week, we focus on the last week of Christ’s life by remembering His passion
and resurrection. The readings this week provide a marvelous opportunity for
quiet reflection and spiritual growth. Take some time to discuss the events of Holy
Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, the Easter Vigil, and Easter with your
child.
The signs of Easter are all around us. Springtime is that special time when flowers
begin blooming and baby animals are born; all reminding us of new life. Easter
gatherings with delicious meals and Easter candy remind us that our time of
fasting and penance is over, and we can celebrate by enjoying all the gifts of
God’s creations. No matter how we celebrate, Jesus’ new life is truly the center of
our joy. We keep the Certuche and Ramos children in our prayers this Easter
season. These faith-filled students prepared for two years to be fully initiated in
our faith at the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening.
The plans are now underway for our last major family event of the year – OLR’s
First Annual Fiesta on Saturday, May 2 from 10 – 6 p.m. We invite all OLR
families, parishioners, and guests to join us for a day of delicious food, tasty
drinks, fun games, exciting entertainment, and fun for all! If you are interested in
helping, please join us on April 16th at 7 p.m. in the conference room.
Wishing you and your families all of God’s blessings at Easter. We look forward to
our students’ safe return to school on Monday, April 13th.

Did You Know? During the Easter season, Americans buy more than 700 million Peeps making Peeps the most popular non-chocolate Easter candy.
Friday Hot Lunch! Please complete the attached Hot Lunch Order form so that your
child(ren) can enjoy our Friday lunch (April17- Burger King cheeseburger, fries, and juice,
April 24-Burger King chicken nuggets, fries, and juice, May 1 – Roundtable pepperoni pizza
and juice.
Prayers Needed: Please keep these families in your prayers –the Orobio family (Norelle-4),
the Orozco family (Roland-3), the Valencia family (Dulce-7th) and the Villasenor family
(Kamila-1, Valerie-7). We pray for the Certuche and Ramos families as they become even
closer to God by fully practicing their faith. We pray in gratitude for all of our OLR families.
May they put their trust in the Lord and strengthen their faith in Him.
Registration: Save $50 per child by paying your registration fee early! After April 15,
registration is $400 per child.
Library Helper Needed: We are looking for a volunteer on Fridays to work in our Library. If
you are interested in helping out in the library by helping students find books, please contact
Mrs. Orozco at corozco@csdo.org.
