The regular meeting of the Washington Township Board of Supervisors was held at the above place and
date.
Chairman, Rick Stence called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a
moment of silence.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Chairman, Rick Stence called for public comments.
In reference to the proposed zoning amendments, Laverne Brown commented we may have missed
including no zoning permit is required for accessory sheds 1000 sq. ft. and under. The Secretary will
review.
MINUTES:
The minutes of the Board of Supervisors November 17, 2015 regular meeting were approved as presented
by motion of Supr. Strohecker, second by Supr. Shetterly. Motion carried.
PAYMENT OF INVOICES:
General Fund:
$ 6,924.17
Liquid Fuels Fund:
265.19
A motion was made by Supr. Shetterly to approve the payment of the invoices as listed above and the
Capital One Credit Card invoice that was approved by telephone call prior to this meeting for the amount
of $1279.67, second by Supr. Strohecker. Roll Call Vote: Shetterly (yes) Strohecker (yes) Stence (yes)
Motion carried.
INTRODUCTION OF GUEST:
Chairman Stence recognized Brian McFeaters, Sewage Enforcement Officer. SEO McFeaters expressed
his appreciation to the Board of Supervisors for appointing him to oversee sewage enforcement in
Washington Township. A 2016 fee schedule was presented with Mr. McFeaters noting the fees for his
services will remain the same as this past year. SEO McFeaters advised additional inspections may be
forthcoming and advised how he plans to conduct the additional inspections in a timely manner. A brief
question period was held.
OLD BUSINESS:
There was no old business to discuss.

NEW BUSINESS:
Update Dauphin County-Wide All-Hazard Mitigation Plan
A motion was made by Supr. Shetterly to approve to adopt the Dauphin County 2015 Hazard Mitigation
Plan as the official Hazard Mitigation Plan of Washington Township, second by Supr. Strohecker. Motion
carried. Resolution: 2015-28
REVIEW OF PROPOSED SUBDIVISION/LAND DEV. ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS:
The Board of Supervisors reviewed the proposed amendments to Chapter 22 of the Subdivision and Land
Development Ordinance as recommended by the Washington Township Planning Commission. After
review and discussion regarding sub sections 22-506 Curbs and Gutters and 22-507 Sidewalks, a motion
was made by Supr. Shetterly to remove the entire section of 22-506 and 22-507 and noted this will be
addressed on a case by case basis, second by Supr. Strohecker. Motion carried. After review and
discussion regarding sub section 22-510 Recreation Areas and Facilities, a motion was made by Supr.
Strohecker to remove the entire section, second by Supr. Shetterly. Motion carried. This concludes review
of the amendments proposed by the Planning Commission. The Secretary will prepare the final draft and
forward copies to the Board of Supervisors and WT Planning Commission for a final review.
SOLICITOR REPORT:
Solicitor Kerwin provided an update on the UDITO litigation.
Solicitor Kerwin will draft a letter to the Washington Township Authority, requesting the authority board
members to pursue shutting the water off on a delinquent account.

Robert Straub questioned the status of Mr. Mattern’s request for connections to the public sewer.
Robert Straub questioned how many landowners are delinquent in pumping out their septic tanks.
