This includes coming to class on time with all needed materials (books, pens, etc.) and being prepared to learn. 6. You are to be in your seat when the bell rings. Standing outside of the door, just inside the door or leaving your backpack in the room is not the same as being present and seated. 7. Students should be actively listening during lectures and taking notes. Talking is not permitted. If you have a question, raise your hand and wait to be called on. Always assume that anything I tell you will be on a test, and always assume you need to take notes. CLASSROOM PROCEDURES -DO NOT ASK to leave the first 10 minutes or last 10 minutes of class. My classroom does not have a revolving door so use your time wisely between classes. I must do the same. -CELL PHONES, MP3 PLAYERS, HEADPHONES and I-PODS. Such items must be turned off as you enter class. If you are caught with one after class starts I will take it (even if you are “just checking” the time or need to “tell your mom something”). Please remember our technology policy at the times that it is allowed. I will confiscate your phone and refer you in accordance with the student handbook policy. At certain times in class, technology will be allowed when it is a part of the lesson. REFER TO THE STUDENT HANDBOOK AND DISCIPLINE CHART. OR I will hold up my hand and count to three silently until I have your attention. Homework/Late Work/Make-Up Work – CHECK EDMODO FOR THE DAILY ASSIGNMENTS AND READINGS. -DUE DATES ARE DUE DATES. All assignments are due at the beginning of the class period on the due date. Late work will be PENALIZED one letter grade for each school day it is late and be marked in Infinite Campus if it is late, missing or otherwise. -All assignments must be submitted on the exact due date for full credit. Assignments missed due to unexcused absences including suspensions will be a ZERO. Attendance is considered very important. Regularly missing class can result in reduced understanding of the subject, missed assignments and lower test grades. You MAY NOT make-up assignments, tests, quizzes or presentations from unexcused absences. -If you miss a class period because of an excused absence, YOU are required to get the missing assignments and handouts. Even if you are excused from class, you are still required to keep up with assigned reading and assignments (which are posted online). This will ensure you are able to participate in class discussions when you return to school and keep you from having too much make-up work. -Make-Up work for an excused absence will receive full credit based on the school policy of 1 day grace per day of excused absence. Computer or other technology problems do not qualify as an excuse for late work. If you have printer problems, handwrite the assignment, e-mail it to me, or bring it to school saved as a pdf file on a flash drive.
