Classroom Expectations – Mr Albers
Things You Need to Bring to Class-
Pen or Pencil and Three Ring Environmental Binder
Grading- Total Points Grading System– Percentage of points earned vs. points possible
90% A, 80% B, 70% C, 60% D, Below 60 F
Approximately - 50% Grade is Daily Work and Labs
50% Tests and Quizzes
Classroom Conduct
NO Food, I-Pods or Cell Phones- they should be kept in your bag. They may be confiscated
Students are expected to maintain high standards of citizenship in the classroom.
Ex. Cheating will not be tolerated
Respect for classmates, instructor, and property is required at all times
Be a team player. You will be required to work in groups
Door hawking at the end of the period is not allowed. Stay seated until the final bell rings.
Absences and Late Work
Absences are the number 1 reason students do poorly in science classes. These classes are lab intensive and
difficult to make up. Students are responsible for all work missed on absent days.
Late WorkExcused absence will be given the same number of class periods to hand in work and they missed. Ex. If they
missed 1 day it would be due the next day. If they missed 3 days they would be given 3 class days to hand in
their work. Unexcused absences have the same amount of time as above, but will receive only receive 50%
credit.
Tardiness
Tardy policy is as follows:
1st tardy =warning
2nd tardy- final warning
3rd tardy-after school detention and phone call home, any failure to makeup detention will result in Saturday detention
4th tardy – Saturday detention referral
