Dear Parents and Carers,
Preparing for the Cold Weather
The temperature really dropped at the start of the week so can I remind you all that all
children will need a coat to wear on the playground for break times and appropriate warm,
outdoor games kits. Dark tracksuit/ jogging bottoms and hoodies/ sweatshirts will be
essential. Please help your child to remember and organise their full kit so they can take
an active part in lessons. Please also ensure that your child brings warm clothing for any
outdoor, after school clubs.
Skoolbo
On Wednesday 2nd December we will be launching our first Skoolbo Challenge of this
academic year by taking part in the ‘Skoolbo World Cup’. The whole school will be
working together as a team to score as many points as possible which will then
contribute to ‘Team GB’s’ overall score. We will be competing against schools from
countries all over the world. Since we love competition in our school, we will also be
awarding the Skoolbo trophy to the class with the highest number of points too.
Watch this space for an update in a couple of weeks’ time!
Anti-Bullying Competition Winners
We were overwhelmed with the response to the 2 competitions held by our Anti Bullying Ambassadors.
The judges found it really tough to choose a school mascot and a
logo which reflected our school ethos. The winner of the logo was
Elizabeth Morgan in Year 3 who came up with the statement
“ If you’re kind, it’s friends you’ll find”.
The choice of mascot was really difficult and, eventually, after
much debate it was decided to merge 2 designs into one. The two
designs were by Archie Dye in Year 4 and Nora Kiraly in Year 6.
A big well done to all who took part- we will be displaying other
entries in the lower school corridor.
Our new Mascot and Logo.
Christmas Fayre Donations- PTA Thanks
Thank you so much for supporting our PTA by sending in your donations. We will still be happy to accept
more during next week…and don’t forget that cakes can be brought in on Thursday or Friday…we would be
really grateful if you could ‘get baking’ for us next week to support our cake stall! THANK YOU!
Christmas Fayre
Friday 4th December sees us host yet another Christmas Fayre. The Fayre will start at 3.30pm. Children
will be dismissed as usual at the end of the school day. My advice would be for you to arrange to meet
your child in the place you would ordinarily wait for them and then come into school, with your child safely
in your care, to join in the festivities. Entry will only be via the
school office at the front of our school and there will be a
small entry charge for adults. Parents of Year 6 children who
are running their own stalls need to ensure that their children
are clear on the arrangements for getting home/ being picked
up. Football practice will NOT be taking place on that day.
Christmas Concerts
A letter will be sent home early next week with an order form for tickets for our
Christmas Concerts which will be held on Weds 9 th December at 6pm and Thursday
10th December at 2pm. Please ensure you return the slip promptly to avoid
disappointment.
All children are expected to come back to school to perform in our evening
concert. Please make sure that you let your child’s class teacher know if there are
unavoidable reasons why your child can not perform in the Wednesday evening
performance. Thank you.
German Assembly
The children who attend the German Club will be performing in assembly at 9.15am on Weds 2nd December.
