AOB 9.1 Music Lessons - Friends currently contribute to the providing of the instruments for Yr3&4 use. Each child is asked for £30 for insurance, so that the instrument can go home. Out of 90 children. 52 did not pay last year which meant the school had to find a home for all these instruments. When asked the school only received 34 responses as to whether or not people would want to continue with the instruments. Given the general apathy about this it was deemed the money may be better spent elsewhere in the school. We will be lucky to have Miss Allbright next year who will hopefully start a St Edwards Choir group. 9.2 Theatre Trips – was discussed and agreed for the school to go to the Theatre at South Hill Park and see Sleeping Beauty. Cost per child £12.33. Overall cost £3529.10 Parents to be asked to pay £10 each child. A vote was taken all agreed. 9.3 Summer Fayre to be arranged with a potential family sleepover/camp site. 9.4 Sports day – To be arranged – Discussions of the Friends running a BBQ for funds. 9.5 Security of the school - the fencing between ourselves and St Edwards Middle school and the school entrance – Mrs Matthews to update at next meeting. (Completed) 9.9 Planters in the Early Years area for growing. 10.0 – Swimming Lessons – always been for KS1 & KS2 – Was decided that The Friends would still contribute but Year 2 would be the last year to have the lessons given the disruption they cause.
