Mandate compliance, coordination with DEP 10.Education, training, and promotion Sanitation and Parks are already national leaders in biodiesel use. At Parks, the program began with a summer donation of B100 DSNY and Parks use biodiesel now in almost 5,000 units: of every make, size, age, and type. Parks uses B20 exclusively during the warm months. DSNY uses a mix of B5 and B20. DOT also uses B5 in some applications. The Fleet will now expand biodiesel use in two phases: going to B5 year round and citywide first, and then transitioning to greater B20 use during the warm weather months for public works agencies NYC Fleet: Biodiesel Expansion Plan Citywide use in gallons FY11 FY12/13 FY13/14 B5 11,021,765 24,301,101 12,163,693 B20 837,984 2,948,858 15,086,266 NYC is combining investment in hybrid-electric technology with biodiesel use to combine environmental benefits.
