Resolution No. 20 A Resolution encouraging Austin Peay State University Student Government Association colleges to hold one open forum a year for students voices to be heard. WHEREAS, SGA exists "to serve as the voice of the students, and to make sure their thoughts and needs are heard and addressed to increase their quality of life”. WHEREAS, students have expressed concerns that SGA sometimes becomes disconnected with other student’s concerns. WHEREAS, SGA could enhance its ability to reach more students and meet the students that they represent in order to hear their concerns about the university. WHEREAS, the opportunity for more legislation ideas can arise and be brought before the Student Government Association to be voted on. WHEREAS, the students would benefit from getting to meet their representative and know who to talk to about ways to improve the campus life of students. WHEREAS, teachers could also come and give their input if they choose to come. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED ON THIS 17TH DAY OF MARCH BY THE 64TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE AUSTIN PEAY STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION THAT: Section 1: Upon passage of this Resolution, the Student Government Association will begin implementing the requirement of one open forum per college per year. _______________________ Sponsoring Senator _______________________ SGA President _______________________ SGA Chief Justice _______________________ Date
