A Resolution to revise Article IV Executive Branch Section 3 Subsection D
in the SGA Constitution to add clarification for the qualifications to hold an Executive
position.
WHEREAS, the Constitution of the SGA states "membership in a branch of SGA shall be
open to any student meeting the qualifications outlined in this constitution, its associated
By- Laws and Standing Rules.”
WHEREAS, the applicant must know who is the deciding body in the applicant’s
capability to hold an Executive position.
WHEREAS, the Internal Affairs committee “shall serve as the Election Board of SGA,
hearing all election violations and misconduct.”
WHEREAS, the Internal Affairs committee is composed of 2 Justices, 2 Senators, and the
Chief Justice of SGA whom are considered respectable, non-biased representatives of
SGA.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 65TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
AUSTIN PEAY STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION
THAT:
Section 1: Upon passage of this Resolution, the Student Government Association
Constitution under Article IV Executive Branch Section 3 Sub-section D will read: “Must
have served in any branch of SGA at APSU for two full Clarksville campus semesters
before assuming office. Exceptions may be granted for Senators and Justices appointed
during the academic year. The Internal Affairs board will be the body responsible for
determining if an exception is granted.”
Section 2: Upon passage of this Resolution, this revision will be taken into effect in
August of 2011.
