A Resolution encouraging Austin Peay State University Student Government
Association to request that the Foy Recreation and Fitness Center be open to use to
students that attended Austin Peay State University in the spring semester and are
currently enrolled to attend in the fall semester of the following year.
WHEREAS, SGA exists “to serve as the voice of the students, and to make sure their
thoughts and needs are heard and addressed to increase their quality of life.”
WHEREAS, students have expressed concerns with not being able to use the Foy
Recreation and Fitness Center and other recreational facilities over the summer when
they were specifically built for them.
WHEREAS, allowing students to use the Foy Recreational Center would encourage more
campus life over the summer.
WHEREAS, other schools allow access to these types of facilities over the summer.
WHEREAS, by implementing this plan, it would allow for students to stay active on
campus as well stay physically fit while promoting the use of the Foy Recreation and
Fitness Center.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 64TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
THE AUSTIN PEAY STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENT
ASSOCIATION THAT:
Section 1: Upon passage of this Resolution, the Student Government Association will
