Resolution No. 23 A Resolution encouraging Austin Peay State University Student Government Association to request that APSU’s Dining Service allow students to use meals at the leisure of the student and not at designated time intervals. WHEREAS, SGA exists “to serve as the voice of the students, and to make sure their thoughts and needs are heard and addressed to increase their quality of life.” WHEREAS, students have expressed concerns with not using all of their designated meals in a week’s time. WHEREAS, many students have expressed concerns with wanting to take a friend to eat and use a meal for both the student and the friend, which cannot be done with the current Dining Services plans. WHEREAS, numerous schools already permit their students to use meals as they please and not during designated time intervals. WHEREAS, by implementing this plan, it would allow for students to eat at APSU’s Dining Areas with friends and family. This would encourage students to use APSU’s Dining Areas more often, rather than going off campus to eat with family and friends. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED ON THIS 14TH DAY OF APRIL BY THE 64TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OFTHE AUSTIN PEAY STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENTASSOCIATION THAT: Section 1: Upon passage of this Resolution, the Student Government Association will issue a formal recommendation to APSU’s Dining Services to explore the feasibility of allowing students to use their meals at the student’s leisure and not at designated time intervals. _______________________ Sponsoring Senator _______________________ SGA President _______________________ SGA Chief Justice _______________________ Date
