3C’s Monday Memo
November 2, 2015
.
Math: We will review for the
addition/subtraction test on Wednesday.
Thursday we will take the unit test.
Friday we will review telling time.
Memorizing math facts is very important in
3rd grade. REFLEX is available at home, 7
days a week.
Social Studies: This week we will discuss
using cardinal and intermediate directions on
a map, using grid maps, and reviewing all
vocabulary. Next Monday will be a class
review day and the Unit Geography Test will
be Tuesday, November 10th.
Reading:
New reading logs will be in your child’s
binder. This quarter ALL areas must be
filled out under the correct genre. To receive
a 4, 10 books and a completely filled out
log needs to be handed in. Thanks for your
help at home.
Word Study
This week is week 2 with a practice test on
Thursday for homework and a test on Friday.
A new choice list will begin the following
week. If you have time, sorting nightly helps
students that need extra practice.
Writer’s Workshop: We will be working
on using to, two, & too, a & an, and no &
know correctly. In addition, students will
complete Halloween stories, poems, and free
write.
Star Students: None this week. I am still
missing posters for students that haven’t
shared yet.
We look forward to them sharing their
posters and any extra pictures of favorite
memories they would like to share.
Announcements:
ASAP begins Wednesday, November 4th.
One of the ways I love to get to know my
students is by watching what they do outside
of school. If I can work it into my schedule, I
would like to come to your child’s game,
recital, etc. If you send me the schedule for
the event, I will try to work it into mine.
Thanks for working with me to make sure the
students have nutritional snacks. Thanks for
signing the planner daily and helping with
homework as well!
If you have read this memo, print out a copy
and sign for your child. He/she will receive
an extra sticker for good behavior chart!!
Due Tuesday morning.
Have a great week! Mrs. Feddersen
