Director of Accounting
Purpose
Purpose:
The Director manages and directs the activities related to the financial needs of the University;
ensures compliance to applicable federal and state laws, regulations and university policy; is actively
involved in financial audits; and assists with the preparation of the Annual Financial Report.

: Ensures timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance and compliance with all state, federal,
and university policies, rules, and regulations.

Develops and administers policies and procedures.

Advises and consults with administration and management regarding plans, issues, and problems
associated with the function of Accounting Services.

Function 5:
Functions as a liaison with UT Arlington community and outside constituents.

: Hire, train, and supervise the Accounting Services department staff. Also responsible for staff
development.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting. At least five years experience in
managing an accounting office. Strong computer skills including MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education or governmental accounting. Experience with PeopleSoft.
