Director of Accounting Purpose Purpose: The Director manages and directs the activities related to the financial needs of the University; ensures compliance to applicable federal and state laws, regulations and university policy; is actively involved in financial audits; and assists with the preparation of the Annual Financial Report. Essential Functions Function 1: 9582682537 30 % Time Function 2: : Ensures timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance and compliance with all state, federal, and university policies, rules, and regulations. 20 % Time Function 3: Develops and administers policies and procedures. 10 % Time Function 4: Advises and consults with administration and management regarding plans, issues, and problems associated with the function of Accounting Services. 15 % Time Function 5: Functions as a liaison with UT Arlington community and outside constituents. 15 % Time Function 6: : Hire, train, and supervise the Accounting Services department staff. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting. At least five years experience in managing an accounting office. Strong computer skills including MS Excel. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education or governmental accounting. Experience with PeopleSoft.
