Executive Director Purpose Purpose: Responsible for developing and implementing equal opportunity programs and organizational efforts that ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce as well as a supportive environment for faculty, staff, and students. Will oversee the development and implementation of strategies for employee recruitment and retention. Essential Functions Function 1: Serves as a resource to the UT Arlington community on issues of diversity and inclusion by providing individual consultation and group educational seminars. 20 % Time Function 2: Develops and monitors institutional goals and plans related to diversity initiatives and all equal opportunity compliance obligations of the University. 20 % Time Function 3: Provides guidance on hiring/promotion activities to improve the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups. Oversees the management of the Employment Office programs and staff. 20 % Time Function 4: Serves as liaison between UT Arlington, campus and community groups, and all local, state, and federal agencies. 20 % Time Function 5: Reviews all investigations and facilitates resolutions to allegations of discrimination by members of the UT Arlington community. 20 % Time Function 6: % Time Function 7: % Time Function 8: % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other related functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Master's degree and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience required. Demonstrated ability to foster principles of inclusion in a diverse community; develop innovative solutions to complex issues; address a wide variety of management/employee relations issues using excellent judgment for both individual situations and policy formation. Will possess outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, and listening skills; ability to work independently and as a part of a team; current knowledge of federal employment laws is essential. Preferred Qualifications: Significant experience in an academic environment with knowledge of faculty and staff equal opportunity and affirmative action principles is highly desirable.
