Building Services Supervisor - Doris Davies Purpose Purpose: Changing salary to monthly from hourly. Employee's job title is now exempt. Essential Functions Function 1: Schedules and coordinates work of a group or groups of Building Attendants. Advises building attendants of special assignments or changes in work routine. Inspects areas for which responsible. 50 % Time Function 2: Reviews work of subordinates in custodial and related activities. Requisitions supplies and maintains supply records. Advises superior of need for repairs and maintenance. 25 % Time Function 3: Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures in their everyday use. In some departments, may be required to maintain stock level of all cleaning supplies and equipment. Interviews, hires and trains and schedules Building Attendants. Performs related duties as required. 25 % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Three years of supervisory experience in custodial maintenance work or related management activities. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of cleaning and janitorial methods and materials. Ability to review the work of others, and supervise staff members. Trains new employees. Possess good math skills for the purpose of calculating chemical ratios. Ability to read and understand instructions as outlined by the manufacturer on chemical containers, and has the ability to understand MSDS sheets, and communicate that information to subordinate personnel. Ability to complete monthly and annual evaluations and make recommendations for improvement. Ability to complete daily logs accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of, and the ability to use, janitorial equipment and supplies. Ability to perform heavy physical labor as required. Ability to accurately perform all phases of duties assigned. Must possess a valid driver's license.
