This unit standard is for people new to the leather industry or
those wishing to develop their technical skills in leather
manufacture.
People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate
knowledge of: pretannage stages used in woolskin
manufacture; chemical mechanism of woolskin pretannage
stages; woolskin pretannage effects on end product
characteristics; and potential damage to woolskin product from
incorrect pretannage processing.
