People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of chemical analyses used on leather and tannery process liquors; and describe the effects of incorrect chemical analyses operations. Evidence requirements 1.1 Analytical procedures, including sampling methodology where applicable, are described for chemical tests used at specified tannery process stages. Credit Merit 1.2 three tests for one of hide, skin, or leather; and three for liquors. plus one for hide, skin, or leather; and one for liquors. The apparatus and equipment required to carry out the tests outlined as required under performance criterion 1.1 are described for each analytical procedure.
