process returned goods, in a retail or distribution environment,
in accordance with organisational procedures.

Definitions
Returned goods may include but are not limited to – faulty, damaged, incorrect
product, returned gift.
Organisational procedures refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures
which are formally documented, or generally accepted within the workplace.

Performance of the outcomes of this unit standard must comply with the
requirements of the following - Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act
1986, Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003, Layby Sales Act 1971,
Privacy Act 1993, Sale of Goods Act 1908.

Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA,
before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses

Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
