Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to prepare to
receive returned goods and record receipt of returned goods in
a distribution facility.

unit standard, but is not a prerequisite unit standard: Unit 19582, Receive inwards
goods in a distribution facility.

Definitions
Distribution facility refers to a workplace where the primary focus is on storage and
distribution of stock.
Agreed indicates a course of action that is agreed between two or more people
(including the candidate) and which follows organisational procedures.
Organisational procedures refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures
which are formally documented, or generally accepted within the workplace.

Evidence requirements
1.1
Reason for return of goods is identified and recorded in accordance with
organisational procedures.
Range
1.2
reason may include but is not limited to - goods oversupplied,
incorrectly picked, incorrectly ordered, damaged in transit to store;
evidence is required for two different reasons for return of goods.
Goods to be returned are verified against dispatch records in accordance with
organisational procedures.

Plan for receipt of returned goods is communicated to parties involved within
agreed timeframe.

Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
