Learning Activities: SW report what they did during weekend

SW ask each other questions and take turns sharing

SW discuss briefly last year’s v-day celebration and will share ideas how we will celebrate this year

Assessment Methods: each student will share

Checks for Understanding: participation in discussion

Materials: ELA Journal

Follow Up/HW: think of affirmation notes you will write to friends

Daily Objective: SW increase understanding of importance of friendship as a prerequisite of closer relationships in life

How will we learn it?

Learning Activities:

SW read as a class a passage “Everyone wants to be loved” and discuss the content

Students will write in EAL journal 1-3 questions or comments about the passage read

Assessment Methods: participation in discussion and writing activity

Checks for Understanding: T and TA monitor/support SS while they write
