What are we learning?
Daily Objective: I can tell why the end of the Cold War, the influence of President Nixon in establishing
relations with [communist] China and a policy of détente, and the influence of President Reagan in
Reaganomics and Peace through Strength were important political and economic events/decisions of
the 1970s and 1980s.
TEKS/AP/Standards: ⓇUSH.11A Describe U.S. involvement in world affairs, including the end of the
Cold War, the Persian Gulf War, the Balkans Crisis, 9/11, and the global War on Terror.

1. Cold War Timeline
2. End of the Cold War: Berlin Wall Video Analysis- Students will view video clips and answer
the following question: Why was the fall of the Berlin Wall such as significant event in Cold
War history?
