3. Describe the level of freedom to take action and make decisions with or without
supervision and how the results of the work performed impact the department, division and/or
the university as a whole.
Level of Freedom:
Under limited supervision, the Coordinator has the freedom to meet with potential event clients,
determine needs, create action plans to fulfill needs, and make decisions and judgments as to the
best technology and methods to implement plans and produce events. The position is often the sole
representative for trouble shooting problems at an event, and thus must make decisions
autonomously and quickly.
Impact:
Determining appropriate technology, delivery modes, and production methodologies are decisions
that have great impact on the success and effectiveness of events, some of which include the Offices
of the President and Provost. Thus, they have a direct impact on the University’s image within the
University community, with the alumni and donor base, various constituencies within the Nevada
System of Higher Education (NSHE), local and state community members, and constituencies within
state and local government, all of whom are frequent participants in events held on campus. Likewise,
the incumbent’s performance, decision making, and handling of crisis and sometimes high pressure
impromptu situations reflect upon the perception and credibility of TLT and University Libraries.

 Contemporary video distribution systems including HD-SDI routing equipment and interfacing
standards
 Video and audio conferencing systems and internet video distribution
 Instructional technology
 Video projection systems including set-up and adjustment
 Copyright as it relates to producers and multimedia productions, duplication, fulfillment, and
