Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Program Coordinator in the Center for Student Cultural Diversity is the primary service provider to ethnic and culturally diverse students. The individual provides Spanish translation services (both written and verbal) and information on college admissions to high school students and community members who want to enter or continue a program of post-secondary education. The Program Coordinator collaborates and coordinates with other programs on campus to provide activities for ethnic and culturally diverse students. The individual co-facilitates diversity workshops, first year education (FYE) courses, coordinates student activities and advises student clubs and organizations. The position reports to the Director, Center for Student Cultural Diversity. 2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. The position is responsible for complying with all federal regulations that directly relate to job responsibilities. The individual works closely with the Director on decisions associated with the position, but must work somewhat independently, with initiative, and with some latitude in decisionmaking. Impact: The decisions and judgments made by the Program Coordinator impact campus climate for ethnic and culturally diverse students. The position directly affects the understanding of the unique issues facing underrepresented students and expands awareness of the Center resources to department, division, and the campus wide community. Inability to complete responsibilities of the position may be a detriment to student growth and graduation. This position is very visible to the public and therefore has a direct impact on the perception of the university and its reputation. 4.
