News from Room 113 January 15, 2016 A Peek at our Week Reading: We are still in our Fiction Unit. We have talked about characters’ feelings and traits by thinking about what’s happening in the story, studying the characters’ facial and body language, and listening to what the characters say and think. Phonics: (A-Z, or, ar, ur, ir, er, ch, sh, th, wh, ing, ed, ai, ee, ie, oa, ue, ou, ow, oy, oi, oo, blends) Writing: We have been working hard on the rules of a sentence and making our own sentences to match our pictures. We are practicing beginning our sentences with an uppercase letter, having finger spaces in between words, ending with punctuation, and understanding a sentence is a complete thought. Math: The kinders are still working with teen numbers and identifying numbers that are one less and one more to help build upon their number sense. .Please play the math game throughout the week and sign and return the bottom portion on Friday in their purple folders.
