POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Coordinator, Media Services Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional D (TS) JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating and assisting in the day-to-day operations of Media Services (MS) centers at the designated campus by allocating resources, providing multi-media technical support and training of faculty, students, and staff in the use of technology in classrooms, conference rooms, and special events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 40% 1. Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the MS department at the designated campus, to include receiving and scheduling equipment requests, distribution, retrieval, maintenance, and security of audio visual equipment such as video and laptops, document cameras, public address systems, screens, digital video cameras. Delegate duties to assistants and student workers to assist with virus updates, Share Point, and instructional software. Operate college vehicle for equipment transport. 2. Coordinate the maintenance and monitoring of Technology-Enhanced classrooms to ensure optimal multi-media operation. Maintain accurate equipment inventory, schedules and records. Coordinate and perform minor repairs, trouble-shooting technical equipment failures and preventive equipment maintenance. Recommend future equipment purchases. 30% 3. Provide technical support, training and recommendations to faculty, staff and students on the use of multi-media equipment and Technology-Enhanced classrooms. Assist Manager in establishing work schedule for office and special events coverage. Provide MS staff training on policies and procedures and equipment/instructional production materials. 10% 4. Assist the Manager of Media Services with the planning, installation and assessment of hardware for multi-media equipment, and Technology-Enhanced classroom. Convert instructional materials to digital format and scan materials for transparency production. 10% 5. Provide assistance to district wide special events such as Board meetings, faculty development, Campus Life activities, Student Government, Forensics, Special News alerts, Distance Education rooms, Little Temple and off campus events. Help the district with teleconferences, webinars, video and audio conferences. 5% 6. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Technology or related field. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years in technical services, project implementation or instructional technology support. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES: Driver’s License, Defensive driving certification, proof of insurability. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Skills to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on computer (i.e. identify file formats and convert files) and audio visual equipment. Skills to gather information and determine client’s audio visual needs in a timely manner. Skills to safely operate a motor vehicle in a busy environment. Ability to follow guidelines in completing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Ability to manage stress while dealing with time demands (i.e. last minute changes to setups, equipment malfunctions, etc.) and conflicting situations (displeased faculty, staff). Ability to be attentive to all aspects of the environment in the workplace. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form and with a diverse group of individuals. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with Administration, Faculty, staff, and students. Ability to train student and staff on procedural and technical operation of equipment. Ability to organize and plan work schedules and tasks to provide technical support. Ability to adapt and learn new technological changes in the industry. 2.
