POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Program Manager for Project Higher Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional D JOB SUMMARY: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Project Higher program. Plan, organize, and develop goals and procedures for the program. Serve as an advocate for the program with administrators, outside agencies, and others on relevant program matters. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 20% 1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Project Higher program. Provide input on program goals, objectives, and budget development. Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, program goals and objectives. Develop and implement program policies and procedures. 2. Oversee and collaborate with El Paso Community College (EPCC) Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) Counselors, University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), and the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DARS) in the selection of participants for the program. Travel to the different EPCC campuses and Independent School Districts (ISD’s) to recruit students; attend regional meetings at DARS and Region 19. 15% 3. Create and coordinate program orientations and summer college readiness training for participating students and conduct in-service training for faculty, staff and educational coaches. 15% 4. Provide direct supervision to educational coaches assigned to program; monitor and review support services utilization and recommend improvements. Responsible for personnel management direction and guidance including orientation, performance appraisal, professional development, coaching and counseling. Schedule and supervise students, track and report their hours. 15% 5. Establish and maintain a system to monitor and track student participants, educational coach’s assignments/schedules, program statistics, and related information. Retrieve and compile statistical data; prepare and submit reports and/or communications. Create program materials such as brochures and handouts. 15% 6. Collaborate with staff from CSD to coordinate and provide reasonable accommodations to program students. 10% Effective: 6/8/15 Page 1 of 5 7. Act as a liaison between EPCC, UTEP, DARS, ISD’s, Region 19, faculty, and other college personnel regarding program roles and services ensuring student success. 5% 8. Program budget ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree. EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years related experience. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and insurable by the district’s auto liability insurance carrier; must have a reliable vehicle. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1.
