POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager, Student Services Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional C JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the coordination of the academic and continuing education registration and student services activities of the Registrar’s office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Directs, coordinates, and supervises the daily operation for the district support services at the designed campus. Provides a variety of services to students, staff, faculty, and outside agencies and serves as a campus liaison. Daily analysis of a broad range of problems with considerable reasoning and judgment is conducted. 2. Year-around coordination and implementation of various academic/non-credit registration functions: Telephone, walk-in, mini-mester, power pack and special registrations. Handle the process of enrollment for academic suspension or returning probation students. Implements and maintains the Registrar’s, Admissions’, and Continuing Education departments electronic data information. 20% 3. Coordinates and supervises the Registrar, Admissions, and Continuing Education daily campus functions. Ensure the availability of services to students, faculty, staff, and community members to include emergencies, maintenance requests, problem resolutions, and disseminate information. 20% 4. Interprets and coordinates operations, procedures, policies, laws, rules, and regulations governing departmental functions. Adheres to deadlines as designated under State and Coordinating Board Rules and Regulations for each semester session. Responsible for determining residency status for tuition purposes as stated by the Texas Higher Education Board. Assist Financial Aid in providing Ability to Benefit (ATB) status according to Federal Government legislation. Responsible for the clearance of instructor’s grade scanners, grade records, and official certified class rosters. 10% 5. Provides personnel management, direction, and guidance to staff, including: orientation, performance appraisal, coaching, personal and professional development. Establish tasks and standards for the campus site. Employ, train, approve leave absences, and sign time sheets. 10% 6. Responsible to maintain and keep the registration and office equipment functional. Other duties include ordering, receiving, processing, and distributing materials to students, staff, and faculty. Authorize materials to be posted on campus. 5% 7. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: None ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years. Skills/Abilities: Strong analytical skills, detailed oriented, ability to process and analyze information accurately, ability to maintain consistencies in actions and practices, and general management skills required of the position. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation software.
