POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Program Manager Program Manager, Pre-testing Retesting Educational Program (PREP) Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: D JOB SUMMARY: Manage the day to day operations of the PREP Program. Plan, organize, and develop goals and procedures for the Program. Represent the program with administrators, outside agencies, and others on relevant matters. Supervise subordinate staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 35% 1. Manage the day to day operations of the PREP Program to include establishing goals and objectives; develop program calendar of activities, manage workflow, and assure that target populations are being served adequately. Assist in resolving issues that arise in the day-to-day delivery of the program. 2. Responsible for establishing and maintaining measures of accountability regarding student usage and success. Compile data, prepare and submit program reports. 20% 3. Establish and maintain partnerships with community businesses/ organizations, educational institutions, and other entities to support and market the PREP program. Coordinate community outreach presentations and activities to promote the program and provide services to students and prospective students. 20% 4. Provide personnel management direction and guidance to staff including orientation, performance appraisal, professional development, coaching and counseling. Participate in setting performance goals and priorities that contribute to departmental mission. 15% 5. Develop budget recommendations and monitor program expenditures. Ensure equipment and software is available for student use as needed by the program. 5% 6. EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years related experience. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and insurable by the district’s auto liability insurance carrier. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Ability to formulate PREP program goals and objectives and to effectively market the program to select target audiences; Ability to process and analyze information accurately; Experience working with a diverse student population having sensitivity to cultural issues; Strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and teambuilding skills; Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form; Ability to work collaboratively in developing partnerships and teamwork. Ability to clearly and effectively present ideas in meetings and presentations. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with a general office environment (copier, phone, fax, etc.) 3. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software.
