JOB SUMMARY: The Installation Technician will be an on-the-field support member for the NOC and
Engineering departments versed in all areas of telecommunications outside plant construction to include
inspection of existing infrastructure, supervising maintenance contractors, and delivering services. The
technician will be part of the product delivery, emergency repair, and short-term construction teams
including but not limited to emergency technicians, contracted construction, new and emergency
construction, regulatory agency permits, and existing utility relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Responsibilities include: splicing, aerial fiber installation, general electrical
knowledge, emergency fiber repairs, contractor supervision, construction
safety practices, customer product delivery, preventative maintenance and
inspection of all outside plant (wired and wireless).
2.
Construction Safety Practices (OSHA and Industry); Construction Industry
Standards and Practices (construction supervision).
3.
Site survey analysis (fiber and wireless).
4.
Warehouse inventory tracking; Project inspection and measuring (budgets and
projects); Tools and equipment tracking.
5.
NOC support on the field; Engineering support on the field.
6.
Preventative maintenance scheduling and logging; Customer service.
7.
Construction job scope and requirements (hardware usage, fiber height, route
feasibility, pole requirements, etc.) all per set company standards; Service
delivery and installation: wireless, fiber, or through third party.
8.
Other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years related experience working in construction.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.

Equipment Used: Personal computer and other equipment associated with a general office
environment (copier, phone, fax, etc.).

Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation
