JOB SUMMARY: Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the Classification & Compensation
section.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.
Analyze, interpret, and make recommendations for position evaluation requests;
perform in-person interview and desk audits; conduct analysis and make
recommendations for special case salary equity issues.
2.
Develop and maintain an accurate master file system of position descriptions
through the archival system, database and web. Assist in drafting and updating
job descriptions. Respond to internal and external requests for information/data
(research information; prepare reports, analyze data, etc.)

3.
Work closely with the District's Employment staff to ensure position descriptions
are in compliance with college policy and local, state, and federal regulations.
Provide accurate information in a timely manner to assist the smooth operation of
the recruitment process.

4.
Serve as the information resource to District staff on items relating to the
performance appraisal system. Provide ad hoc status reports as needed.

5.
Complete salary surveys requested by national, local, and education-related
organizations and maintain records of participation and results. Research new
survey sources as necessary.

6.
Assist in the development of salary tables, institutional calendars, and other
compensation related items. Maintain compensation-related tables in the human
resources information system.

7.
Assist with special compensation/classification projects, programs and other duties
as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years related experience.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Skills/Abilities:
Good communications skills both orally and in writing.
Ability to organize and schedule work to meet time commitments.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
Knowledge of automated personnel information systems and operation of personal
computers.

Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with an office
environment.
3.
Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation
software.
