JOB SUMMARY: Will serve as subject matter expert in classification and compensation and provide
support in the coordination and operation of the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.
Analyze, interpret, and make recommendations for position evaluation/
reclassification requests; perform in-person interview and desk audits; conduct
analysis and make recommendations for special case salary equity issues.
2.
Draft and update job descriptions and ensure they are in compliance with college
policy and local, state, and federal regulations; provide assistance in understanding
human resources policies, procedures, and compensation guidelines.

3.
Perform complex compensation research and analysis by gathering and
interpreting data; assist with complex compensation/classification projects, and
provide training.

4.
Serve as an information resource to District staff on items relating to the
performance management system; and provide ad hoc status reports as needed.

5.
Complete salary surveys requested by national, local, and education-related
organizations and maintain records of participation and results; research new
survey sources as necessary.

6.
Assist in the development of salary tables, institutional calendars, and other
compensation related items; maintain compensation-related tables in the human
resources information system.

Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide work direction to assigned staff.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years related experience.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES: Must have a valid driver’s license. SPHR or PHR desired.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.
Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of principles, best practices, and trends in Human Resources;
Current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws;
Knowledge of recording and presenting statistical data;
Understanding of principles, practices, and techniques of job evaluation and salary
analysis;
Effective organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail and follow
through;
Good communication and presentation skills;
Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the institution; and
Knowledge of automated human resource information systems and operation of
personal computer.

Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with an office
environment.
3.
Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation
software.
