POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Coordinator Financial Aid Coordinator - FA Records Management, Training & Outreach Non-exempt CATEGORY: Classified GRADE: F JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Manager with administration, planning and coordination of a designated program, department or unit within the Financial Aid Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Supervise the Financial Aid records management area ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional requirements. Responsible for overseeing imaging timelines and workflow processes of financial aid documents, to include training and resolving any imaging related issues. 2. Assist manager in providing daily work direction and assignments for Intake staff. Work closely with Manager to ensure staff is knowledgeable and aware of new procedures, practices and requirements. Oversee all activity of web room. 20% 3. Responsible for coordinating all financial aid outreach activities for both on campus and community events. Maintain outreach schedule; assign staff for outreach activities, conduct financial aid workshops; update presentation material and coordinate with other departments for events. 15% 4. Evaluate training needs for department by monitoring program regulatory changes to ensure compliance with federal, state and institutional requirements as well as strengthening customer service techniques. Make training recommendations to Manager and Director. Assist in developing, scheduling and delivering training to financial aid staff. 10% 5. Responsible for maintaining departmental policies and procedures manual; updating as needed based on changes in federal and state laws, rules, regulations and internal processes. 10% 6. Provide information and assistance to students or families in the completion of financial aid applications or processes. Assist with online processes as well as ensuring accuracy, completeness of any documentation submitted for processing. 10% 7.
