JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing vision, strategic direction and accountability for developing
programs and services which support the District’s outreach efforts as well as entering student transition
and success at the College. Provides leadership, organization, supervision and evaluation of the following
departments and programs; Testing, College-readiness, Dual Credit/Early College High School,
Recruitment, and School Relations and Orientation.

1.
Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate district wide campus services for areas
of responsibility. Provide leadership of outreach, recruitment and transition
activities to ensure District meets established strategic enrollment targets. Assist
college leadership in strategic and organizational planning process to increase
college attendance, completion and/or transfer. Responsible for development and
implementation of college Recruitment plan.

Provide leadership for collaboration with faculty support staff, and cabinet officers
in the development and administration of outreach, recruitment and transition
programs. Collaborate with instructional deans, faculty and academic support
staff to improve student support personnel to achieve student access and success.

Provide leadership for evaluating program effectiveness, and for continuous
improvement for assigned Student Services areas. Ensure continuous quality
improvement in designated student services programs and service by analyzing
qualitative and quantitative data. Implements changes based on assessment.

Provide planning and operations assistance to the VP of Student Services through
active participation and leadership on task forces, committees and councils.
Participate in appropriate professional activities at local, state, and federal levels
as deemed necessary by Vice President of Student Services and/or applicable to
job functionality.

Represent the College at
outreach/recruitment functions.

Provide personnel management activities of assigned staff; including
recommendation for employment, supervision, orientation, performance
evaluation and guidance and support concerning professional development;
mentor and train staff on policy and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision of assigned Directors and staff.
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Departmental budgets
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration or
closely related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Nine (9) years of demonstrated experience representing the following;
 Understanding of student services and/or student affairs program in a higher education
setting.
 Demonstrated expertise in project planning, development, implementation and analysis.
 Preparing and presenting information and summary reports internally and to the public.
 Understanding of the community college philosophy and mission.
 Handling the demands and requirements of senior-level management in higher education.

 Must have the skill and ability to plan, organize, lead, and control personnel and
operations of a large department;
 Effective communication and problem solving skills in a variety of circumstances;
 Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students,
staff, faculty and the public;
 Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills;
 Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and
inclusion.

environment (copier, phone, fax, etc.)

Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation
software.
