News From Mrs. Rowe and Mr. Miller We have been busy in the classrooms this week! Please take a look at the learning that has been happening. We are excited about our field trip to COSI next week on Wednesday. Please remember that your child will need to bring a packed lunch that can be thrown away at the end of the day (i.e., brown paper bag). Mrs. Angela Rowe & Mr. Dave Miller December 11, 2015 Reading & Writing Workshop This week in reading workshop we have been working on writing “mini essays” to show a compare Math Workshop This week in math workshop, we started a new unit focused and contrast about characters, settings, and around coordinate grids. events within the stories we are reading. Word Study In writing workshop this wee we spent the week thinking about coding with the district through our daily “Hour or Code.” Many students have really enjoyed this and are choosing to work and practice more coding on their own time. This week in word study we started a new Greek and Latin root word unit looking at the roots “sol” and “mon” meaning one. Students are even starting to put roots we have already learned together! Social Studies This week in Social Studies, we have continued and wrapped up our learning about the Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs. We will be moving into a science unit about force and motion next week.
