News From Mrs. Rowe and Mr. Miller We hope that your weeks have been good. At school we have been busy continuing work in all content areas. Mrs. Angela Rowe & Mr. Dave Miller January 22, 2016 Reading & Writing Workshop This week in reading workshop, students have been working on comparing and contrasting Math Workshop In math workshop we are wrapping up our study on adding and multiple non-fiction texts. Students are taking these compare and contrasts and writing a subtracting fractions. This reflective essay to show this thinking. It was due week we did multiple lessons on Friday. and practice activities with In writing workshop, students have started to write their body paragraphs for their research essays. We will continue this work. Essays will be due this. The test over this unit was Friday (today). sometime in early February. At the start of each class time, students have been using that transition time to do their own wonder research. They are currently thinking about how they would like to creatively present this work to their peers. Word Study This week in word study we started a new Greek and Latin root unit on di, dis, and dif (meaning not). This unit will wrap up with a test on Thursday of next week. Science This week in science we started a unit on ecosystems. We discussed photosynthesis and plant structures. This learning will continue into next week.
