THE PARISH RETREAT AT EASTERN POINT IN GLOUCESTER is scheduled for June 4th –
6th.
We are aware that the month of June is a particularly busy one for people. If you are
interested in coming to the retreat it would be helpful if you could call the rectory (617-5526102) now to register . We hope that you can take advantage of this opportunity for personal renewal
and refreshment. In particular, if you have never experienced a retreat or if it’s been a long time since
your last one, we especially invite you to join us. The cost of the weekend is $200 with all meals included.
CALL FOR PARISHIONERS INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
The St. Ignatius Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) seeks new members for a 3 year term beginning
September, 2010. If you are interested in serving on the PPC or know someone else who might be
interested, please contact Fr. Bob at 617-552-6110 or frvereec@bc.edu. The PPC is an advisory body to the
pastor and has as its primary focus assisting the pastor in planning for the future of the parish. Updating
and monitoring the implementation of the Parish Pastoral Plan is one of the major functions of the
Council, in addition to specific planning initiatives. The PPC aims to be broadly representative of the
parish in its composition. We especially invite young adults (ages 22-40) to consider serving on the PPC.

2010 C ATHOLIC A PPEAL - C ALLED TO L OVE AND S HARE
Stewardship reminds us to count our blessings, acknowledge God's gifts to us, and express
thanks to Him. We do this by a proportionate giving of our time, talent and treasure. We
sincerely thank the parishioners in our parish who, as good stewards, have made a gift to the 2010
Catholic Appeal. You are helping many people with many needs. God calls us to share what we have to
help others. If you have not yet made your pledge, envelopes are available at the back of the Church. For
more information, please visit www.BostonCatholicAppeal.com or call 617-779-3700. Every gift matters.
Thank you!
CATHOLIC DIRECTORY – Copies of the 2010 edition of the Boston Catholic Directory are available at
the rectory for those who would like to purchase one. The cost is $25.00.
ROSES FOR LIFE—The rose has long been a symbol of life and love. Once again on the
weekend of Mother’s Day, May 9th, Massachusetts Citizens for Life, through members of our
parish Respect Life Committee, will distribute silk roses after all the liturgies. All proceeds will
benefit pro life work.
HOLY HOUR FOR LIFE – All are invited to a Holy Hour for Life on Monday, May 11th at 7:30 pm in the
Upper Church. There will be scripture reading, reflection and silent communal and musical prayer for
the intention of respect for life at all its stages.
