Or, for that matter, how do they arrive at the reported figures at all? The answer is really quite simple. Once a year, Catholic parishes nationwide actually count the number of people who attend church on given Sundays. In the Archdiocese of Boston, those Sundays historically fall within the Month of October. So, if you see someone at your liturgy over the next three weeks, with clip board in hand, making notations, that person is doing this October’s ‘head count’. A head count encompasses everyone in attendance, including infants and children. As the late syndicated radio commentator Paul Harvey would say, “Now, you know the rest of the story.” OUTREACH MINISTRIES MOTHER CAROLINE ACADEMY NEEDS KNITTING NEEDLES!! We received an email from a co-principal at Mother Caroline, asking if any of our parishioners might have any knitting or crochet materials that they might be willing to donate to the school. Knitting needles are at the top of the list, as they are teaching the students to knit and many of them do not have their own needles. If you can help out with this need, just bring the materials to the Rectory. Thanks!
