CATECHISTS We currently need: Primary Pre-school catechists (during the 10am Mass) Kindergarten (2) Grade 2 (1) Grade 3 (2) Grade 5 (2) Middle School Here we have a bit of a shift from last year: Grades 6-8 will be taught together in a style similar to the Social Justice Program. Volunteers in this program will be working with a team of teachers to create one short presentation and then run discussions and activities. This program meets one every two weeks. Confirmation Again, a shift: Grade 9: “mini-courses” – instead of being responsible for one class for one or two years, you will have the opportunity to teach a course for 4-6 weeks on a given topic. Grade 10: A more traditional Confirmation program, this class will meet every week to discuss how to live a Catholic Christian life and to integrate learning from the previous years prior to the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation in the spring. Retreat Team Members Meet over the course of six weeks prior to a retreat to plan the retreat. Two retreats are offered during the year, one in fall and one in spring. Retreat team members will then participate in the retreat, offering talks and running activities. ELLEN G. HANLEY MEMORIAL CHILDREN’S LIBRARY - This summer we’ve been reviewing our library collection with an eye towards growing beyond our current 150+ books. We could use your help! Please send in suggestions for books, music or audio CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes of a religious, moral and/or spiritual nature that you feel would be a great addition to our library. We are especially interested in CDs and DVDs that will appeal to kids, as well as religious-themed activity books. Send your comments and suggestions to diane@marcuse.us. We’d love to have more ‘librarians’ on hand 15 minutes before and after the Family Mass during the upcoming school year. Let me know if you are interested.
