DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position will provide leadership to a team of Income Maintenance Caseworkers. Caseworkers are responsible for taking applications, processing applications, completing reviews and determining eligibility for the Food & Nutrition Program to ensure all eligible families receive the appropriate benefits timely. Position partners with other supervisors, works collaboratively to coordinate case management, identify training, policy interpretation in NC FAST (North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology), conduct team meetings and manage Leading By Results performance. Require the skills to work effectively in a teamwork setting, ability to maintain effective working relationships with customers, agency leaders, staff, and community partners. Position is responsible for interviewing and selection of staff; training, coaching conferences, employee performance appraisals, and appropriate disciplinary action. This position must be aware of community resources and services that can assist individuals and families. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience PREFERENCES: Applicants with supervisory experience in a public assistance program within a county department of social services; work experience with NCFAST, extensive front-line experience in a county department of social services in North Carolina.
