DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Position’s primary responsibility is to provide intensive therapy and crisis intervention to a caseload of emotionally disturbed children up to age 18 and their adult parents. The clinical social worker is responsible for assessment, evaluation and management of a treatment plan for each child/adult in the caseload. Position provides intensive, home-based counseling to special needs children and their foster families with a primary goal of preventing disruptions of placements. The clinical social worker is also responsible for the advanced training to foster parents as part of an overall service plan on behalf of children with serious behavioral and emotional problems. This position will work individually with clients and in teams of other professionals. Clinical treatment of children and adults with mental health issues is the primary responsibility of the Clinical Social Worker. Effective communication skills are essential. Requires the ability to work effectively in a teamwork setting and maintain a cooperative and effective working relationship with team members, community professionals, and agency leaders. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation. Must be able to demonstrate intermediate level of personal computer skills. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of supervised social work experience as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. Must be certified to practice as a certified Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. Degrees must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
