Christina, ‘16 Hometown: New Providence, NJ Major: Communications (Public Relations) Personal Interests: I enjoy watching and playing sports, hiking, and intramural badminton. I also spend my time baking, shopping, and watching Netflix and television shows. Campus Involvement: I am involved in Campus Ministry, Fox P.A.W. (People for Animal Welfare), Residence Hall Council (RHA), and the Communication Arts Society. How I Can Help As Your Peer Mentor: When I came to Marist I was shy, but I met so many incredible students and faculty. I know how scary it is wondering who “will I eat lunch with every day?”. I've been there, so I can help guide you through these times of uncertainty and doubt. Whenever you need someone to eat with, I will be happy to join you. What I Was Nervous About: I was afraid I would be sad leaving my friends and family, but putting yourself out there and getting involved around campus is a great way to meet people with the same interests. What I Was Excited About: I was excited to meet new people. I came from a high school where everyone was very similar, so I was excited to be able to meet people who I normally would not have met at home. I was also excited about exploring my interests and passions ‐ at Marist there are no limits to your dreams. Advice for the Class of 2019: Have conversations with professors and make connections with faculty. Don't be afraid of meeting people; everyone is in the same boat as you are. You will find lifelong friends at Marist. Don't hold back ‐ join a club and find your passion. This is your time to find what you love. “Congrats Class of 2019! I am so excited to meet you in the Fall and see what great things you can accomplish! Enjoy the rest of your summer. Go Red Foxes!”
